Poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDADMAC for short), with CAS No. 26062-79-3 and chemical formula (C₈H₁₆NCl)ₙ, is a water-soluble cationic polymer. It mostly appears as colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid or white powder, with excellent water solubility, high positive charge density and strong cohesion. Its core application is in the water treatment field. As an efficient flocculant, it can quickly adsorb negatively charged suspended particles, colloids and organic matter in water, widely used in municipal sewage, industrial wastewater treatment and drinking water purification, and also used for sludge dewatering to improve treatment efficiency. In the papermaking industry, it is used as a paper strength agent and retention and drainage aid to enhance paper strength and reduce pulp loss. In addition, it is used as an antistatic finishing agent in the textile field, a conditioner in the cosmetics field, as well as in petroleum exploitation, biomedicine and other fields, and is a versatile functional cationic polymer material in multiple fields.
