Barium sulfate

Ferric sulfate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Fe2(SO4)3. It is a grayish-white or light yellow powder that is hygroscopic. It is soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, and its aqueous solution is reddish-brown.

It is used as an inorganic polymeric flocculant for iron salts, primarily in urban drinking water and industrial water supply. It serves as an analytical reagent, water purifying agent, iron catalyst, and mordant for the production of pigments and pharmaceuticals, and also as a mordant and water purifying agent. In the field of water treatment, ferric sulfate is used as a coagulant and sludge treatment agent for water purification, mainly for the purification of drinking water, industrial water, various industrial wastewaters, and urban sewage. It has excellent effects in turbidity removal, decolorization, deoiling, odor removal, sterilization, algae removal, phosphorus removal, grease removal, COD and BOD removal, and heavy metal ion removal. The use of a mixture of ferric sulfate and ferric chloride, along with calcium hydroxide, to treat sludge discharged from wastewater treatment plants can reduce the amount of sludge. Ferric sulfate can also be used as a raw material for the manufacture of alum and other iron salts and pigments, as an etchant for aluminum devices, and as a purifying agent for certain industrial gases. It can also be used as a biocide and for acid pickling treatment of metals, especially stainless steel and copper parts. Acidic solutions are used as oxidizing media for extracting useful components from ores.

Ferric sulfate can also be used as a raw material for the manufacture of ferric vitriol and other iron salts and pigments, as an etchant for aluminum devices, as a mordant for wool fabric dyeing and cotton fabric printing, as a soil conditioner in agriculture, as a catalyst in the polymerization process of organic synthesis, and as a purifying agent for certain industrial gases. It can also be used as a pesticide and for acid pickling treatment of metals, especially stainless steel and copper parts. Acidic solutions are used as oxidizing media for extracting useful components from ores. Mix an appropriate amount of ferric sulfate, ferric chloride, and calcium hydroxide with sludge and then filter it. When ferric sulfate is used as a coagulant, its applicable pH range is 4.0 to 12.0. 

4. It is used in electrolytes for galvanizing nickel-iron alloy, galvanizing iron-cobalt alloy, etc., and can also be used in dyeing aluminum oxide films and stainless steel etching solutions; it is also used as a water treatment agent in wastewater treatment.
