Aluminum sulfate is a water-soluble inorganic compound with the chemical formula Al₂(SO₄)₃, appearing as white crystals or powder. It has a wide range of applications and low cost. Its core application is in the water treatment field as an efficient flocculant. The aluminum hydroxide colloid generated by hydrolysis can adsorb suspended solids, colloids and impurities in water, realizing the purification of drinking water, municipal sewage and industrial wastewater. It can also be used for water phosphorus removal to improve effluent quality. In the papermaking industry, as a precipitant and sizing agent, it can enhance the water resistance and strength of paper and reduce pulp loss. In addition, it can be used for soil improvement to adjust the pH value of alkaline soil; as a mordant in textile printing and dyeing to help dyes adhere; it is also an important component of foam fire extinguishers, and an auxiliary raw material in fields such as cosmetics and leather processing, with both practicality and economy.
