Potassium methylsiliconate, with CAS No. 31795-24-1 and chemical formula mainly CH₃KO₃Si, appears as a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid. It is soluble in water, dilutable with water, and has excellent hydrophobicity, permeability and weather resistance, making it an environmentally friendly organosilicon waterproof agent. Its core application is in the construction field. As a high-performance waterproof agent, it can penetrate into porous substrates such as concrete, stone and tiles, react with carbon dioxide in the air to form an insoluble hydrophobic film, achieving waterproof, anti-seepage and anti-freeze-thaw effects. It can also be used for the protection of cultural relics, ancient buildings and high-end stone without changing the natural appearance of the substrate. In addition, it is used as an additive in coatings and ceramics to enhance product weather resistance and wear resistance; it achieves moisture and corrosion resistance in wood treatment; it is also used in composite material modification and soil improvement, and is a common functional chemical raw material in building protection and industrial manufacturing fields.
